Home Sweet Home

We were discharged from the hospital on Saturday and ready to go home!! Aunt Janelle, Uncle Matt, and brother Zayne were at home waiting for us. Dan and I both felt a little emotional bringing home Tessa, I got teary eyed when I saw the balloons on the mailbox, it just finally felt real and that she was OUR baby girl!
All dressed in her going home outfit; so cute!

She didn't seem to mind her carseat and went right to sleep

Daddy carrying her out the door...

This picture says it all. We were showing her to Zayne for the first time and he completely turned his back to her and was more curious about the chips Matt had. I guess that's a dog for you!
Daddy has a new person to make fantasy picks with now, Mommy is off the hook!
So happy to be home with Tessa!

Janelle and Matt are reaping the rewards of all Dan and I's hard work!
Their day will come all too soon!!

Hospital Stay

Miss Tessa had so many visitors to come and see her in the hospital. Dan had to sleep on a tiny couch bed and my bed was o.k. but not exactly home. We couldn't wait to get home so that we can hopefully catch up on some sleep...haha. Maybe I should say lay in my own bed not exactly sleep. The hospital stay was great otherwise and all of our nurses were so helpful and nice! It was such a different perspective for me to be a patient in the hospital where I work; especially being wheeled through the halls in a wheelchair instead of walking. I'm sure I won't be ready to return in 12 weeks now that Tessa is here!
Here are a few pics from the hospital stay...

Tessa Rose Oliver

TESSA ROSE OLIVER

Tessa arrived Thursday November 6th at 12:26pm. She weighed 7lbs 8ozs and is 21 inches long. I worked Tues and Wed and after being home about an hour on Wed I stood up and my water broke. We went to the hospital around 11pm, labor was about 12 hours, but the best part was that pushing only lasted for 5 contractions and she was out!! Everything went so great and we are so happy to finally meet this precious little girl! Mom and baby are doing great!

Labor is Here!!

Hello Friends and Family!
Yes we are beginning labor tonight!! I worked today and when I got home from work I noticed that I lost my plug when I went to the restroom. Dan and I had dinner and were sitting talking in the kitchen (fortunately) and when I stood up my water broke. I couldn't believe it because that only happens in 15% of pregnancies!
The weird part is that I am not having contractions yet so we don't know how long labor will take. The doctor said to come to the hospital in a couple of hours and if I haven't started contractions then we'll get things going with some medicine. Since my water is broken they will want to have her delivered within about 24 hours. So, for now we are just letting everyone know that it has begun and that we'll let you all know when she arrives!! I would guess sometime tomorrow!! Pray for us!!

38 week update

Dan and I went to the doctor again today, it is hard to believe a whole week has passed again! We got another great report minus the detail that we aren't in labor yet! :) So, here is the new news...

  • We are dilated 1-2cm so not too much change there
  • We went from 30% thinned to 70% thinned, which is great progress
  • My cervix is very soft
  • Her head is in -2 station (0 is the opening of the pelvis and -5 is still floating so she is down low)

Overall we just hope that any progress we can make now will make labor that much better! I am most happy that her head is so low which should help with how long I'll have to push to get her out! We are still hoping that she arrives any day now. Dan has always said since day 1 that she would be born on Nov 7th, so I'm hoping he is right!! If she is going to listen to her daddy now would be a great time!! We'll keep you updated
